Tassenmuseum Hendrikje

The Museum of Bags and Purses is passionate about exceptional design. This is why Claessens Erdmann architects & designers was selected to create the new shop. And a good choice it was. The new spatial design for product presentation gives the shop a serene contemporary look. By arranging all the bags along the walls in a straightforward dynamic presentation the focus is even more on the bag: the product it’s all about. The detailing of the new museum shop now corresponds with the interior of the museum to reinforce the link between the museum and the museum shop. The shop has been provided with sustainable LED lighting that enhances both the spaciousness of the shop and the presentation of the bags. Everyone who enters will immediately see that this museum shop is a natural modern oasis for women looking for that special bag.

The Museum of Bags and Purses is the largest museum of its kind in the world and was recently included in the world’s top 10 fashion museums. With its collection of around 5,000 bags, the museum provides an overview of the history of this everyday article. The collection includes bridal bags, hip purses, satchels, reticules, schoolbags, evening bags and designer bags created by famous fashion houses such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Hermès.
