Unification in the Stedelijk Museum Breda

From 17 June, the Stedelijk Museum Breda opens her doors to the public. The museum is originated from the two museums MOTI, Museum of the Image and Breda's Museum. During the past six months, together with the Stedelijk Museum, we have renewed the museum building, preserved and refurbished. The result is a modern city museum where the interaction between heritage, visual arts and image culture take center stage.

Responsible for the overall design of the public area, the exhibitions on the ground floor (including the graphic language) and the design of Lanzas café, we are on the way to the finish line and busy with the final preparations.

First The Barn Food open

The first of a new range of organic fresh food restaurants opened on the Amsterdam Zuidas. The mission of The Barn, 'From stable to table' is not only translated into an organic food offer, but also to the interior with no nonsense and clear references to the stable. Concrete walls, a wooden roof, a brick floor and basic details make The Barn a nice and charming newcomer in a tight business environment like the Amsterdam Zuidas. A place where speed is the motto. The Barn is responding to this with two ultra-modern woodstone ovens and ordering goes through the digital screens or via the The Barn app.

Prodock launched

Prodock, an initiative of the Port of Amsterdam, is a physical location and a platform in the port of Amsterdam for startups in the manufacturing industry and is the first incubator that combines office space with indoor and outdoor workshops for test setups, lab space or production space.
For an existing building on the Moezelhavenweg in Amsterdam, we have developed a flexible design concept for the offices and workshops. This way many different types of startups can be accommodated and then they can scale up rapidly as their business grows.

The store is located in shopping mall Gallerian, one of the oldest shopping malls in Stockholm. There is a big renovation going on throughout the whole shopping mall and the Nike store is located on the crossing of the 2 main traffic axes. As Nike ‘local architect’ we translated the Nike store concept into this new store. Besides that, we took care of the supervision during construction and project management. We have been a partner with Nike for 9 years already.

New visual identity Gray Line sightseeing boats

Gray Line Worldwide operates local sightseeing tours and is the largest sightseeing company in the world. The company was founded in 1910. Since March 2016 also visible in Amsterdam. We developed and designed their new identity on the boats. The design should be free, easy going, spectacular and positive. The result is a colourful logo and a visual language referring to the sparkling canalwaters and the current Gray Line identity.

Shopping centre Eggert

A major renovation of Eggert shopping Centre in Purmerend is taking place. The layout is changed. Floors, ceilings and facades are renewed and escalators were moved to “open up” the top floor.

Connection with the inner-city is also one step closer. A large part of the rebuilding is finished, but there is still work to include one of the new entries. Realization of a vide and a "green wall" with vertical planting, over two floors.

Sensata in headquarters in progess

Claessens Erdmann architects is building a new European headquarters in Hengelo for Sensata Technologies Holland B.V. in collaboration with Schröder Vastgoed and the local authority, with the aim of acquiring BREEAM Outstanding status. The new office is designed to be the healthiest and most advanced work environment in the Netherlands, and aims for a position in the top 3 on the BREEAM ladder of excellence. It will be 5 storeys high and provide approximately 9,000 m2 of office and laboratory space.
A global 'first' in terms of CO2 reduction will be the use of cementless concrete in the floor elements. The project is based on the circular consumption philosophy. The outer structure employs the 'design for disassembly' approach, which means that when it is eventually dismantled, the individual components and elements can be re-used. The design of the interior is also characterised by a high level of ambition in terms of sustainability, as reflected in the creation of an ultra-healthy interior climate, open workspace and use of innovative materials.
